Ok guys, it’s been foreverrrrr since I last posted. I’ve gone through a job-change, breakup and more since I last wrote, so bear with me! But just today I made this amazing spring wreath for my front door. It was cheap to make yet also looks very chic and very much real! This was made from a very inexpensive grapevine wreath that you can fine at your local hobby store along with cheap, dollar-store flowers!
Another Easter-y post I wanted to share with you all is my collection of bunnies. I have had a thing for rabbits since I was young and actually had a pet rabbit who lived for 9 years (this was long for a rabbit when their average lifespan is 5-7 years). Below is a collage of all the rabbit-y things I’ve collected over the years.
This blogging thing has been a little rough for me, but I’m not one to ditch things when they get difficult. But, talking about difficulty, my boyfriend of 4.5 years is leaving with his mom for Mexico and I’m not sure when he’ll be back. I’m still trying to digest everything and not break apart. How do you guys deal with heartbreak? I need some encouragement from my dear followers.
So this past weekend I had the opportunity to model again at the Farouk Discover Hair Show at the Convention Center in downtown St. Louis. I was able to do this last year as well since my relative, Maggie Karcher, is a stylist for Farouk Systems.
The show lasted two days and I was able to model on Saturday. What an experience I am telling you! I not only got a totally chic cut but also got an amazing color that I’ve been getting compliments about since! Maggie and her stylist partner Nicholaus Todd were artists in the very essence of the word. I got behind-the-scenes ops and got to see famed stylists onstage such as Bradley Tuggle and Rocky Vitelli. So cool! Follow me on Instagram @chicgurl88 to see an insider video clip of the show!

Many thanks to Maggie, Nicholaus, and the entire CHI team, total hair rockstars! xoxo

My mom has been interested in photography for awhile now and her Facebook is usually riddled with lovely images like the one below of Tower Grove Park. This photograph makes me feel as though I’m in an enchanted dream. What do you guys think? Visit my mom’s website here to see more of her lovely work!
As women, the only thoughts we have about our hips include “my love handles are too big”, “my hips look weird in this skirt” and “can someone help me get rid of this excess fat?” But, have we ever given second thought to the health of our hips?
Our hips contain 17 muscles and not taking proper care of those muscles can result in numerous health issues such as back pain and poor balance just to name a few. What can we do to make sure our hips are that the top of their health? Do yoga!
Check out this link for some amazing yet simple yoga poses to work your hip muscles and increase their range of motion! You’ll be happy you did! And your hips will thank you!
After 12 years of dancing flamenco, I have officially hung up my flamenco shoes and “retired.” I began this form of dance through my ballet studio (I took ballet for 10 years). Dance has always been a part of my life since my mom was a ballet dancer when she was young. It’s in my genes and it’s definitely in my blood. So it’s a little bit strange knowing I don’t have any dance class to go to every Monday and Wednesday. No shows on the weekends. It’s bittersweet.
All my life I have loved Irish hardshoe dancing and actually bought my own pair to teach myself using Olive Hurley’s DVD program. Perhaps this is the new dance form I’ll start next! Who know? All I know is change is good and new beginnings are fantastic.
Hi guys! Yes, I’m here. I am so so sorry for not writing since, let’s see, about half a year or more ago. Life has pretty much taken control of me and I’m finally trying to reverse that. I’m still in my beautiful little apartment and actually helped my girlfriend, Chelsea, move into hers just 5 minutes away from me! Yay! (Major girls movie nights coming up). Here are a few life moments that have happened since I last wrote:
my beloved pet rabbit of 9 years died last July
I now have a lovely, all-white guinea pig named Ellie (in honor of my rabbit, Eppie)
circumstances forced me to leave my job working for two magazines and I am now Communications Coordinator at a private club here in St. Louis
two of my brothers are in the Coast Guard, one is stationed in Michigan, and the other in Virginia
So, yeah, my life has changed a bit since I last wrote, but I hope to share with all of you my beautiful little reality more often from now on 😉
