So this past weekend I had the opportunity to model again at the Farouk Discover Hair Show at the Convention Center in downtown St. Louis. I was able to do this last year as well since my relative, Maggie Karcher, is a stylist for Farouk Systems.
The show lasted two days and I was able to model on Saturday. What an experience I am telling you! I not only got a totally chic cut but also got an amazing color that I’ve been getting compliments about since! Maggie and her stylist partner Nicholaus Todd were artists in the very essence of the word. I got behind-the-scenes ops and got to see famed stylists onstage such as Bradley Tuggle and Rocky Vitelli. So cool! Follow me on Instagram @chicgurl88 to see an insider video clip of the show!

Many thanks to Maggie, Nicholaus, and the entire CHI team, total hair rockstars! xoxo

Today, I decided to chop off my shoulder-length locks! I went for it! My hair is so incredibly thick (thanks, Papa!) and it was just getting hard to manage. I am totally loving it, and have been telling everyone I feel like a bobblehead. Hahaha!
I decided to give it a go and straighten my newly-shortened hair! There is much less now to straighten, and I was able to finish in about 15 minutes! I think it looks great; it’s very posh! What do you think?
Fall and Winter fashion has brought with it a love for jewels–the bigger the better. In my book, this trend is perfect. I simply can’t get enough of bling and everything sparkly because what does it do? It brings attention to me, of course! HAHA! These pieces are a way of bringing drab ensembles to life and adding a hint of the regal to an otherwise humdrum outfit. One of my favorite go-to websites for finding these said pieces is baublebar.com . Everything here is high on glitz and glamour, yet the prices won’t break the bank. Here are a few of my favorite things:
Scarves are my favorite winter staple as they can add a quick splash of color or texture to any outfit! Over the years I have collected a huge number of these accessories and I’ve been forced to stuff them all onto hangers in my already-bulging closet. It’s been a nightmare to say the least–trying to find the right scarf quickly has been near mission impossible….until I came upon this awesome gizmo at 5 Below!
Isn’t this thing just too cool? Simply just slide your scarves through the flower and you have a quick and easy way to select your scarf next time you’re in a hurry!
This is how I organize my scarves, but there are tons more ways to sort yours! I’ve added some pictures of other ways you can organize your neck candy!
Just a few months after officially becoming hired as a freelance writer for Missouri Meetings & Events magazine, I was invited to attend the grand re-opening of the Sappington House and Barn Restaurant in Crestwood, MO. I donned my one-shoulder black dress, black patent leather heels and my Press badges in order to become the main interviewer of the evening. This was the first time I ever had to interview someone while being filmed, so I was extremely nervous, but after all was said and done, I had gotten quite a few compliments about my skills!
Here’s a photo of the event tent! I looooved the color scheme and mod furnishings used here.
